Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship

The government has allocated PKR: 6 billion for the Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship Program in the Federal Budget 2023-24. Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship was formerly known as Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship, so the students availing Ehsaas Scholarship program should not worry as their scholarship program will be continued under HEC as per previous practice. 92,000 students will be awarded scholarships this year.

All students from low-income families studying in undergraduate programs at public sector universities are eligible to apply. Selection will be based on need and merit, i.e. on the basis of student’s CGPA and family income (up to Rs. 45000). Apart from the tuition fee, other incidental charges ie registration fee, examination fee, library fee will also be included in the scholarship and a stipend of Rs. 4000 per month will be given to each scholarship recipient.

Fifty percent of the scholarships are awarded to students and 2 percent of the total scholarships are earmarked for meritorious individuals. Eligibility Criteria for Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligible students from low income families Undergraduate students taking admission in affiliated public sector universities are eligible to apply Only those students who have taken admission in the respective public sector universities on the basis of merit are eligible to apply who have enrolled on Self Finance/Self Support Programme. APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS Students receiving grants from any other scholarship or source are not eligible Applicants who are already receiving grants from any other scholarship or source are not eligible to apply This program is for regular students only. Distance learning students are ineligible.

The Ehsaas Scholarship Program will offer need-based scholarships to students in undergraduate degree programs.

Ineligibility Criteria for Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship​

Receiving any other scholarship or ongoing grant

Enrolled in distance learning programs and affiliated colleges (both public and private).

Secure admission to evening programs on a self-sustaining/self-supporting/self-financing basis, or with a higher cost structure

Students enrolled in two-year post-higher secondary or equivalent courses, two-year associate degree programs, Masters, and BA/BSc programs are not eligible for the Ehsaas Scholarship.

Students with associate degrees who have fresh enrollment in a lateral undergraduate degree program, i.e. fifth semester, are similarly ineligible.
